Colleen Rae began showcasing her songwriting power when she penned 90% of the pull-on-your-heartstrings material for her Sophomore CD Look At Her Go. Colleen describes a song about adoption with 'Do I Have Your Eyes' as her fingers flowing effortlessly across the keys. Colleen Rae was thrilled to be Awarded in 2016 by the Edmonton Music Awards, "Artist To Watch" for her Sophomore CD.
Accolades include singing at the Calgary Stampede, The Big Valley Jamboree, The Edmonton Winspear, and performing on an Alaska Cruise!
"Quickest Heart In Town" is one of Colleen Rae's most successful radio releases from her sophomore CD. This song, which captures the story of one guarded heart, was co-written with Nashville's William (Jimmy) Wallace.
Colleen Rae was excited to co-write with renowned songwriters, Byron Hill and Wood Newton. "Drunk On Your Kiss" was written with two of Colleen favourite Canadian songwriters, Louis Sedmak and Duane Steele.
Rae's debut CD What You Need Is Me yielded seven nationally and internationally charted singles. The following year, Rae was honoured to receive nominations by the Western Canadian Music Awards, Toronto Independent Music Awards and Canadian Country Music Awards. These accomplishments are very unusual for an independent artist, especially for a first album!
Four of Colleen’s Singles went #1 on CFCW's Top Canadian Singles, including "Family" which crossed over from the country stations to the gospel stations in Ohio and Texas and locally on Shine FM.
Colleen Rae is a natural on stage. Rae has performed at several clubs, festivals, and casinos for nearly two decades now with her solid band CORNERSTONE. Their uniqueness, versatility and harmonies have captured audiences throughout Western Canada.
